We have conducted an eight week long road test on the Ford Mondeo Titanium X TDCI driven by our National Accounts Manager, Katherine.
The correct pressure for the front tyres is 32 psi and the rear should be 30 psi. We carefully recorded a month long fuel consumption at this pressure of a very respectable 41.5 mpg
We then reduced the pressure to 30psi and 28psi and found a drastic reduction. With the tyres at the incorrect lower pressure the mpg dropped to 36.2
This car does about 35,000 miles per year. If diesel is £1 per litre this is an annual saving of £561
It really does pay to have yout tyre correctly inflated!
