Bridgestone tyres is offering some timely advice to motorists who are ‘fearful’ of setting out on snow and ice covered roads during the next few days.
With more snow threatening to hamper weekend getaways, Andy Dingley, senior analyst at for the Bridgestone tyres in the UK, warned: “With the strong possibility that we could see the snow and ice experienced at the start of the month repeated later this week, motorists are understandably fearful when heading out on the roads – we all remember the scenes of cars skidding around on slippery roads or trapped on driveways.
“Motorists should do everything they can to prepare themselves and their vehicle for driving during the winter such as planning extra time into journeys to avoid rushing around and checking tyres to ensure they have adequate grip and are at the correct pressure.”
Drivers are also advised they may need to adjust their tyre pressure during the Christmas holidays, when so many vehicles are weighed down with extra passengers and gifts.
