Goodyear Takes First Place in ADAC Summer Tyre Test

The European motoring associations ADAC, TCS and also ÖAMTC have initiated the 2022 summer tyre test season and set things in motion. Included is not only one, but two comparative evaluations. Looking at two different dimensions – the popular small car size of 185/65/R15 and 215/60/R16 for medium-sized vehicles – each tyre was evaluated and compared against one another.

The results were as follows, with the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 taking first place.

Six tyres were rated as ‘Good’ by ADAC:

‘+ A very balanced tyre with top result for wear. Particularly good on wet surfaces but also good in the dry.’

Bridgestone Turanza T005

‘+ Very balanced. Top result in the wet and very good on dry roads. Relatively good fuel efficiency.’

‘– Slightly elevated noise levels.’

Michelin Primacy 4

‘+ Very balanced. Particularly good on wet & dry roads, relatively low wear levels.’

Pirelli Cinturato P1 Verde

‘+ Very balanced with top result on dry roads, good in the wet.’

Dunlop Sport Blu Response

‘+ Good on dry roads, good aquaplaning performance.’

‘– Slightly weak when braking in the wet.’

Giti GitiSynergy H2

‘+ Good characteristics in the wet.’

‘– Slightly weak driving precision on dry surfaces.’

And then there were ten ‘satisfactory’ tyres:
