The Micra is a popular practical about town super mini, and Nissan is adding more power and engine efficiency to give it a competitive edge in its class. To reduce fuel consumption, maintain excellent tyre wear and ensure high mileage, etyres recommends Goodyear NCT5, Michelin EA3 or ContiEcoContact tyres.
The super-versatile Note has been badged one of the UK’s best value cars. Fitted with Bridgestone Dueler tyres offering high-level traction and performance, the Note would suit a wide range of replacement tyres. The Vredestein Quatrac, a summer and winter tyre in one, has excellent handling characteristics suited to the Note, however energy tyres are also an option, including the ContiEcoContact and Michelin EA3s.
Nissan’s comfortable crossover, the Qashqai, has supple suspension and requires chunky tyres so it floats over poor surfaces at speed. Factory fitted with the Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport tyre, the General Grabber UHP and Goodyear Wrangler HP are on-road alternatives.
Our National Sales Team can provide impartial advice about a number of suitable replacement tyres for your Nissan depending on your model and driving style. Call now on 0800 028 9000.
Background Information on NissanBased in Yokohama, Japan, Nissan has a number of plants across the world, but is one of the only car makers to retain a manufacturing presence in the UK. The Nissan Note and Qashqai are both produced at its factory in Sunderland. Nissan has invested some £420million in its Sunderland plant in recent years to begin manufacture of the Nissan Leaf, its range of electric vehicles and is developing a plant to advance its lithium-ion battery on the same site. Although zero-emission vehicles are the centrepiece of Nissan’s product strategy, the company is also investing in a portfolio of low-emission technologies, called PureDrive, such as clean diesels, efficient internal-combustion engines and hybrids.
Changing Nissan TyresChanging Nissan Car Tyres should require 3 primary choices:
- The overall quality of the tyre (durability, wear, ratings, cost) desired for the Nissan
- The speed rating that the Nissan Tyres should have depending upon the driver's average and occasional "fastest-driven" speed
- Deciding if local and/or regional weather patterns merit keeping two sets of tyres for dry vs. wet road conditions
Further, if an owner wishes to put tyres on different sized wheels for the Nissan, a careful decision about what size tyres will be valid for that Nissan is required. If, for example, a larger wheel size is desired, then the profile (height) and/or the width must be reduced to avoid damaging the drive train. A 195/65/15 tyre for that Nissan, for instance, on a 17" rim, could legitimately become a 165/65 (narrower) or a 195/55 (shorter) but could not stay a 195/65 as before. A handy calculator for changing tyre sizes can be found here.
All tyres for any Nissan vehicle should be fitted using the proper torque, according to the manufacturer's specifications. Torque is the amount of pressure used to tighten the wheel nuts. For tyres that are fitted to the following Nissan models, the torque settings are listed. Also, the recommended air pressure to put into tyres for Nissan models is listed. Further, the alternate tyre size for Nissan models.
