By volume, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Corporation is the largest tyre manufacturer in the world with interests in Dunlop and many other regional and second line brands around the globe. Goodyear is involved in every area of the rubber market and was founded by the Seiberling brothers who used the name of the American discoverer of the vulcanising process as the brand for their company. However, Charles Goodyear, was never associated with the firm which adopted his name.
Founded in Akron, Ohio, USA, Goodyear has been at the heart of the development of the tyre market and is a volume leader in many sectors. It also operates a large test and research centre in Luxembourg, where tyres are designed to meet European market needs and tested to destruction under the most stringently monitored test procedures.
Curiously, the design centre at Luxembourg has a display of concept tyres, including one with a tread block pattern in the shape of a row of dolphins. Tests showed that the "Dolphin" tyre was as effective as a conventional tyre pattern, but the marketing department felt the concept too "gimmicky" and it was modified to become the Goodyear Ventura.
Goodyear offer a tyre for every motoring scenario and the products are OE specification with virtually every motor manufacturer around the world. The Goodyear Wrangler was specified by Land Rover for its global G4 Challenge.
We sell the entire range of Goodyear car and van tyres and will fit them at a location of your choice.
