WIGAN PRAISE

Please thank your fitter on my behalf. I asked for an evening appointment (after 6pm) and although he had finished his job before myself at 3.45, he duly turned up at my home at 6.15pm and changed and fitted my caravan tyres. He also informed me that etyres now fit Tyron bands. I have just booked a set to be fitted this weekend. Many thanks

Tyron Bands

March 26, 2013

All caravan owners should consider having Tyron Bands fitted to their caravan wheels. A Tyron band is a steel circular which fits in the well of the inside of the wheel. When a caravan suffers from a puncture, especially when motorway driving, the caravan is much more likely to topple over onto its side due to the caravans high centre of gravity. The Tyron band stops the tyre from folding into the well of the wheel, so giving the wheel effectively a short “run flat” capability and making it impossible for the caravan to end up on its side. Many thousands of caravan owners have benefited from having Tyron bands fitted to their caravan wheels when they have suffered a puncture whilst on the move. Tyron have made etyres a preferred supplier of their Tyron bands and all of our fitters have been fully trained in the removal and refitting of their safety bands. And of course, etyres offer a mobile service so we will come to your home or caravan park and do the job at your convenience

Caravan Tyres in Stock

Now that winter is behind us and spring is well and truly on its way, many of  Britain’s estimated 500,000 touring caravans will be getting ready for weekend breaks and summer holidays.  However many caravan owners will neglect to properly check their tyres before setting off on their holiday.  The tread on caravan tyres hardly wears down at all.  This is because the caravan wheels aren’t actually doing any work, they simply trundle along behind the car.  But good, deep tread on a tyre doesn’t automatically mean that the tyre is safe.  It is recommended that caravan tyres are changed every 5 or 6 years, regardless of how the tread looks.  This is because the side walls of the tyre weaken with age and the fact that, for a considerable amount of the year the caravan is stationary on the driveway or the caravan park putting pressure and strain on a single point of the tyre.

Of course at etyres you don’t need to worry about the aggravation of hooking your van to your car and then driving it to the local tyre depot and struggling to get it through the gates so that your tyres can be changed.  We’ll come straight to your door or caravan park and do the job at your convenience.  You have tyron bands fitted?  Don’t worry about that.  Our fitters are fully trained in the removal and refitting of tyron bands.
