Tyres industry dinner raises cash for cancer charity
Great to hear that the first tyres industry dinner sponsored by the Tyre Recovery Association raised more than £1,300 for MacMillan Cancer Support.
More than 100 people from the tyres industry attended the dinner which followed the association’s annual forum day.
The money, which was generated through a raffle and blind auction, will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support, helping to improve the lives of those affected by cancer.
“We are delighted to have raised funds supporting such a worthy cause as Macmillan,” said Peter Taylor OBE, secretary general of the Tyre Recovery Association.
He added: “In such a difficult economic climate, I would like to thank everyone who attended the evening for their generosity and support.”
The evening also included an awards presentation which saw the Volkswagen Group awarded with the TyreSafe award and Jim Rickard, managing director of Michelin presented with the TRA lifetime achievement award.
