Hot on the heels of its ‘recommended’ status in the Auto Express all-season tyres test, Goodyear has announced that its Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 has garnered two more accolades.
The feted Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 tyre has won first place in the influential German magazine AutoBild’s latest tyre test and taken the top spot for braking on wet, snow and ice in the independent TÜV test ordered by Goodyear.
Goodyear tyres has billed its new offering into the market as: “an all-season tyre with a focus on winter performance and excellent summer capabilities that can meet the most challenging road conditions in Europe all year round”.
It came out tops after AutoBild put ten different tyres to the test, evaluating a wide range of criteria, including traction, handling and braking in snowy, wet and dry circumstances, leading in all categories against its competitors.
In the Autobild test, the Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 (size 195/65R15 91H) demonstrated ‘exemplary’ multi-talent with best wet-handling features, highest aquaplaning reserves and shortest wet braking distances, excellent fuel-efficiency due to low rolling resistance and highest mileage, leaving all competition behind.
The tyres qualities were also confirmed by the independent TÜV test ordered by Goodyear. The results showed that the tyre is a leader for braking on wet surfaces, snow and ice braking compared to all competitors tested.
On snow, the Vector 4Seasons proved to have an 8% shorter braking distance as compared to the average of its three leading competitors. In the same tests, the Vector 4Seasons also showed 6% shorter breaking distance on wet surfaces and a 9% shorter braking distance on icy roads compared to the average of its three leading competitors.
Alexis Bortoluzzi, Marketing Director Consumer EMEA for Goodyear tyres, commented: “We are pleased to see that these test results confirm the performance of the newest member of the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons family. Goodyear is committed to providing safety during all weather conditions, especially more challenging situations such as on wet, icy and snowy roads. These test results reinforce our 30 years of All Season leadership to contribute to road safety and give families across Europe peace of mind.”
