Over the years numerous tests have been carried out to determine where on the car new tyres should be fitted in the event of replacing a pair rather than a set of four. Some of the previous tests were done a long time ago and some may have been prejudiced for commercial reasons. So we decided to carry out some tests of our own.
The tests, which were filmed, were carried out at MIRA Ltd in Warwickshire in September 2007. We were assisted by Vicki Butler-Henderson who, as well as being an expert driver, has first class television presenting skills.
