Maxxis Victra Sport 5
Designed to be both attractive and functional, the Maxxis Victra Sport 5 is the company's new ultra-high-performance tyre. Maxxis described this latest generation of tyre as "ground-breaking" in its ability to deliver a premium level of performance at an affordable price.
The Victra Sport 5 utilises modern materials and new methods of construction to offer increased strength and improved handling performance.
Thanks to its highly dispersed, full silica compound, with functional polymers and special reinforced fillers, the Victra Sport 5 provides excellent grip in both wet and dry conditions. It also offers improved fuel consumption.
Furthermore, a new Aramid ply layer helps make the tyre lighter. This serves to further reduce its rolling resistance and improve its handling performance at high speeds.
This unique combination of innovative compound with progressive tread design also makes the Victra Sport 5 more durable than its predecessors.
What's more, the Victra Sport 5's optimised sidewall construction delivers extra strength without compromising on ride comfort.
Maxxis UK Managing Director, Derek McMartin, said: “I truly believe that The Tire Cologne and the launch of the Victra Sport 5 will prove to be pivotal moments in Maxxis’ European journey. The performance of the tyre is very favourable when compared with alternatives from what are traditionally seen as the European premium manufacturers – but it won’t come with the inflated price tag and gives dealers the opportunity to make good margin.”

Maxxis Victra Sport 5 Tests & Reviews
The Victra Sport 5 was launched at The Tire Cologne in July 2018. Maxxis claimed its quality is comparable to that of leading premium products currently on the market.
In April 2018, TÜV SÜD found that the Victra Sport 5 could indeed match premium brand alternatives. Importantly, it outperformed the Hankook Ventus S1 EVO2 and the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 in some tests and matched them in others. Testers said it displayed impressively short wet and dry braking distances, as well as improved wet handling. It also came joint top in the rankings with regards to its resistance to aquaplaning.
