Bridgestone Weather Control A005
The Bridgestone Weather Control A005 is a premium all-season touring tyre. Perfect for drivers who want consistent safety, convenience and control, it performs year-round in a range of weather conditions.
Providing excellent control on wet roads in particular, the Weather Control A005 handles cornering and unexpected braking with ease.
Certified for winter use with a 3PMSF mark, the Weather Control A005 still offers the same impressive mileage as Bridgestone's popular summer tyre, the Turanza T005.
Above all, the Weather Control A005 provides these benefits without the cost or hassle associated with changing between summer and winter tyres.
The Weather Control A005 features an innovative v-shaped tread design that improve its grip on snow.
In addition to this, the individual tread blocks include z-shaped sipes, which serve to increase the tyre's lateral stiffness.
At the same time, high volume sipes in the tyre's shoulder quickly evacuate water from the contact patch. This in turn improves the tyre's wet grip and reduces the risk of aquaplaning.
Importantly, this clever tread design works incredibly well with the tyre's optimised construction. The casing ensures even pressure distribution, which has the effect of balancing wear throughout the tyre's lifespan. For this reason, the Weather Control A005 provides excellent grip, fuel efficiency and mileage.
In addition to this, Bridgestone’s engineers utilised the brand's Nano Pro technology and included a high percentage of silica in the Weather Control A005's compound. This combination of features supports performance by keeping the tyre flexible and responsive throughout the seasons. This means it can continue to adapt to the shape of the road surface and offer impressive grip in all temperatures and conditions.
Research & Development
Prior to developing the Weather Control A005, Bridgestone conducted research into the needs, preferences and expectations of 15,000 consumers of all-season tyres. They also asked about the driving challenges they face on a regular basis.
The research showed that, understandably, customers want to feel confident that their all-season tyres can safely and competently handle all kinds of weather conditions. For the same reasons, safety in wet conditions was a key concern for European customers.
With its highly impressive EU tyre label, the Weather Control A005 meets these demands. It has received the top A-grade for wet grip in all dimensions, a feat which none of Bridgestone's rivals have yet managed. It has also received a C-grade for rolling resistance, with some sizes even achieving a B-grade.
The excellent team of engineers and chemists at the Bridgestone Technical Centre in Rome are responsible for the design of the Bridgestone Weather Control A005.

Bridgestone Weather Control A005 Tests & Reviews
TÜV SÜD, one of the most respected independent automotive testing institutes in Europe, conducted a tyre test in March-April 2018. They found the Weather Control A005 outperformed its leading competitor, Michelin’s CrossClimate+, with impressive braking distances in both wet and snowy conditions.
