A sex attacker has been preying on women after letting down their car tyres and then pretending to be a “good Samaritan” and offering his help before assaulting them.
The man is believed to have tricked at least two victims into falling into his trap after he has tampered with their tyres.
Police in Fort Myers, Florida, suspect the attacker is letting the air out of his victims tyres and then striking when they return to their cars.
In a recent incident, which took place in broad daylight, the “good Samaritan” touched his victim inappropriately while she reached to release the spare tyre.
On a second known occasion he followed the vehicle out of the car park and when the driver realised she had a flat tyre and pulled over, he approached her to offer his help.
Now police are warning women drivers to be on the look-out for warning signs that their tyres have been tampered with.
They must exercise caution or raise the alarm if they notice their tyre has gone flat in a short space of time or the valve is lying on the ground.
