The UK’s leading tyres safety organisation has helped to reduce the number of defective tyres on British roads from 20% to 12% during the past 16 years.
And in an interview with FleetDirectory.co.uk, TyreSafe affirmed its ongoing commitment to tyres safety issues.
It said: “TyreSafe has a very clear strategy and set of objectives in raising awareness about the dangers associated with defective and illegal tyres.
“It does this primarily through its campaigns which run at key times throughout the year and general ongoing advice. For example, in October, when the roads start to become wet, TyreSafe runs its main annual campaign month of tyre safety month.
“This year we have already focused on giving advice to motorcyclists as many dusted off their bikes in the spring and to caravan owners in June before many set off on their summer holidays.
“TyreSafe uses its website extensively and provides a vast amount of information and advice to motorists through this portal. We also produce a free monthly e-newsletter which is distributed to thousands of drivers, again, giving simple practical help and advice.
“TyreSafe also works closely with its member companies and other organisations to help inform and educate drivers.
“We continually look for new and interesting ways to convey our very important safety messages. We realise that many drivers fit and forget about their tyres so it is important that we continue to drive home the safety messages that could just help to save their life.”
