Police are appealing for witnesses after 17 vehicles had their tyres slashed in an overnight vandalism spree.
Officers believe a knife was used to slash the tyres, causing more than £7,000 worth of damage to the cars, people carriers and vans in Barton, Oxfordshire.
The attacks, which took place between midnight and 4.30am in Mather Road and Stowford Road, were described as ‘mindless’ by local police.
Sgt Jim Holmes said: “The Barton area was showing an improvement in anti-social behaviour and crime but this mindless act was aimed at undermining all that hard work.
“I really want to speak to anyone who may have any information that could help my investigation.
“Eyewitnesses state that they heard a group of young people shouting in the street at around 4.30am who could be connected with the incident.
etyres, the UK’s leading online tyre company, is regularly called on to repair and replace tyres damaged by vandals. It operates a free mobile fitting service which means customers do not have the added inconvenience of getting their vehicles to a traditional depot.
