Michelin North America have been named as the official tyres of Yellowstone National Park – and you can’t get much greener then that!
Yellowstone is famous for its spectacular scenery, Ansel Adams photographs and of course, inspiring the imaginary home of Yogi Bear – Jellystone Park.
It’s a massive feather in Michelin’s cap as the world’s tyres manufacturers clamber to prove their eco-friendly credentials.
The announcement is part of an environmental stewardship initiative to provide environmentally friendly tyres to the Yellowstone National Park vehicle fleet, Michelin said.
The company will provide the park fleet of about 1,500 wheeled vehicles with energy-saving tyres to improve fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions by 8-10 percent.
Michelin said it also will offer programs for Yellowstone employees to demonstrate how to improve fuel efficiency and maximize tire life through proper tire inflation.
Yellowstone National Park is America’s first national park. Located in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho, it is home to a large variety of wildlife including grizzly bears, wolves, bison, and elk.
Preserved within Yellowstone National Park are Old Faithful and a collection of the world’s most extraordinary geysers and hot springs, and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.
