Brilliant motoring expert Quentin Willson has been extolling the virtues of winter tyres in his Sunday Mirror column this weekend.
Steve emailed in with this question: “I have a 2005 Jaguar S-Tyre Auto, which was absolutely rubbish in last year’s snow. I’ve heard that winter tyres stop you quicker, but do they give more traction?”
To which Quentin replied: “Winter tyres definitely give you more traction. In fit, they make the difference between being able to leave your house or stay at home. Which? magazine has just voted Goodyear UltraGrip 7 Plus one of its best busy – I’ve used them extensively when it’s deep and crisp and even and they’re nothing short of amazing.”
Which? also singled out the Continental WinterContact TS800, Continental WinterContact TS830, Michelin Alpin A4, Dunlop SP Winter Response and the Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 for best buy status.
