The tyres manufacturer received the Red Dot Design Award 2012, one of the top three design awards in the world, in recognition for the N9000’s pattern design.
Lee Hyun Bong, CEO of Nexen Tyre, said: “Our N9000’s competitiveness is proven by its latest win, as the Red Dot Design Award 2012 is widely known as one of the world’s top three global design accolades.
“This is a great achievement for our design strategy as it comes so close after Nexen’s other wins, the IF Design Award 2010 and Good Design Award 2011.”
The Red Dot Design award dates back to 1955 and is now one of the world’s largest and most distinguished design competitions held by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany.
The N9000 is developed for sportscar and sporty coupé drivers. It aims to provide maximum traction on both wet and dry roads and the Red Dot Design Award stresses its world-class performance and design.
Mr Lee added: “I am proud of the fact that Nexen Tyre’s design efforts have been awarded such a prestigious prize: our products are now truly and globally recognized for their unique qualities.
“Nexen Tyre will continue to make every effort both on design and quality management, to secure the competitiveness of its products in markets worldwide.”
