We are often asked by our customers what the new tyres regulations which come into effect next year are all about and how they will affect them.
TyreSafe, the UK’s leading tyres safety group, was posed a similar question by FleetDirectory.co.uk in a recent interview.
This is what the organisation had to say: “From November 2012, all new car tyres will be sold with a standard label designed to clearly identify that tyre’s performance on three key criteria, similar to the energy efficiency labels that were introduced several years ago for washing machines and fridges.
“The tyre labels will have a colour coded scale and an A to G rating to indicate the tyre’s fuel efficiency based on its rolling resistance, its wet braking performance and its noise levels.
“Wet grip is clearly a critical factor in vehicle safety and raising awareness about this issue should help to remind drivers about this important aspect and hopefully, help to improve safety.”
