Michelin is driving home the importance of proper tyres maintenance as part of the annual National Tyres Safety Week.
The French tyres manufacturer is aiming to remind motorists that proper tyres maintenance is critical to the performance and safety of their vehicles.
As part of the annual Rubber Manufacturers Association’s week-long US campaign (7th-13th June), Michelin offers the following advice help motorists maintain a safe driving experience:
Check tyre pressure – proper inflation is essential for the performance and longevity of the tyre.
Under-inflated tyres will make tyres wear unevenly and negatively impact performance.
In addition, keeping tyre pressure at the recommended level can boost fuel efficiency by one mile per gallon.
Before any long trip and once a month, properly check the pressure of each tyre with a tyre gauge. The car maker’s recommended tyre pressure is on the tyre placard and can be found near the driver’s door jamb, on the glove compartment door or in the owner’s manual.
Do not inflate tyres to the maximum pressure pressed onto the tyre’s sidewall.
