Michelin tyres have been chosen as the original equipment (O/E) partner for the newly launched Honda Jazz in India.
The selection of the Michelin 175/65 R15 84T Energy XM1 tyres means that the tyres manufacturer has become the O/E partner for all models of Honda produced in India.
A statement from Michelin India said: “This is special as the tyre range chosen fits into Honda’s concern towards protection of environment.
“Our partnership with Honda clearly signifies the growing confidence amongst auto manufacturers for Michelin products and technologies.
“At our end, we always try to capitalize on every opportunity to demonstrate the benefits and value Michelin tyres can deliver – ranging from improved performance to better operating efficiency.”
Jean Paul Caylar, the Chief Executive Officer, added: “The partnership with Honda Motors fit perfectly into our overall focus to consolidate our presence in the passenger car tubeless tyre market in India.
“This collaboration has further strengthened our relationship with Honda in India and we hope to continue with it in the future.”
Being awarded O/E contracts is vital for tyres manufacturers. The aim is that if the car owner is satisfied with a tyres performance on a new vehicle, they will remain loyal to that brand when it comes to ordering replacements.
