It is hard to imagine how anyone could think they could get away with such a crime, but a Californian man has been accused of stealing £73,000 worth of tyres from the company he worked for.
Apparently the discrepancy was picked up by an account manager for Color Sport Nurseries, which had a corporate account with the tyres firm.
The sharp-eyed bean-counter noticed there was an unusually large purchase of tyres totalling a staggering £73,000 over a period of just five weeks!
The alarm was raised and the police swooped on Fidel Sandoval-Cisneros, of Salinas, in California.
Cisneros admitted that he and another member of staff had signed for the tyres and then took them for their own use.
Police arrested Cisneros, however the investigators are still looking for the other suspect.
This saga could roll on for quite a long time as police track down the accomplice and find out where the tyres ended up!
