Today etyres received a call from a prospective customer in Northampton who wanted to buy a single Pirelli P7 tyre; size 205/50/17W extra load. Our price, fully fitted was £128.63. Kwik-Fit’s price, on the same basis, was £159.55. So, wanting to negotiate the best deal, the customer asked the guy in Kwik-Fit if he would match our price. The response was “etyres tyres all have an e mark on them and they are made from different rubber compound and your can’t drive on them in the UK. That’s why they are cheaper”
Not surprisingly the customer didn’t fall for this complete nonsense and we won the order.
Just to educate the Kwik-Fit employee… Almost the exact opposite of what he said is correct. “e-marked” tyres tyres are the only tyres that are legal to use in the UK. The part that he got right was that all the tyres that etyres sells are e-marked.
Come on K-F, don’t you realise that people aren’t stupid?
