Bridgestone tyres were delighted to offer their support to intrepid driver Jon Powell during his epic rally across Europe.
Powell completed the Crumball Rally on a set of Bridgestone Turanza’s and raised £2000 for the Friends of Kennel Lane School.
As well as supplying the tyres, Bridgestone also made a generous £250 donation to the school fund.
Jon, and his co driver Ryan Pike, took part in the 2,000 mile tour themed on the seminal 1967 Formula One movie ‘Grand Prix’ visiting historic racing circuits at Reims and Monza on the way to the finish line in Monaco.
The Crumball Rally is designed to be a low cost event, encouraging drivers to complete the course in a £200 ‘banger’, and was run over three days from 10th – 12th May 2012.
In addition to supplying Powell with the rubber that would see him through the event, Bridgestone also made a generous £250 donation to his fund for Kennel Lane School – which his son attends.
Andy Dingley, Communications Manager at Bridgestone, said: “This Crumball Rally is a gruelling challenge to complete so when Mr Powell approached us prior to taking part we were more than happy to not only offer a monetary donation to his cause but also to supply him with a set of Turanza’s to carry on his way around the continent.”
Kennel Lane School is an OFSTED acclaimed school in Bracknell, Berkshire, operating within the Special Educational Needs fields providing a tailored environment for students whose difficulties range from the Autistic spectrum and learning delay to physical disability and beyond.
