Over 11 million motorists will be driving home for Christmas on what is being dubbed “Frantic Friday” and the coming weekend.
The good news is that Highways England has announced it is removing nearly 400 miles of roadworks, which will leave “almost 99 per cent of motorways and strategic A roads roadworks-free in time for Christmas”.
The bad news is the temperatures are likely to plummet again from Boxing Day with the return of wintry weather kicking off the New Year.
So if you have major travel plans over the coming Christmas and New Year holidays, we recommend you check your tyres as soon as possible to make sure they are safe and legal. If you have any doubts or need to get them replaced as soon as possible, etyres will be working hard to supply and fit as many tyres as possible in order to keep our customers safe on the roads.
Also, don’t forget to pay close attention to your vehicle battery. If the cold weather is already taking its toll on this vital component we recommend you have it replaced before it dies completely. Lights dimming when the engine is idling, a sluggish start in the morning, these should sound alarm bells that your battery could be on its last legs.
Just as with tyres, etyres supply and fit a wide range of batteries to suit all vehicles and budgets. They also come with a three year guarantee to give you extra peace of mind and free fitting at a time and location of your choice.
