Did you know that there is the equivalent of just one handprint of tread connecting each of your tyres to the road? Bridgestone tyres has come up with an ingenious way of getting this message across in a new campaign using hands or to be more precise – shadow puppetry.
The inspired campaign features the talents of a Las Vegas based shadow puppetry artist to create an advert which focuses on the fact that: “The lives of you, your family and friends, everyone you care about are literally riding on just four handprints.”
The Bridgestone tyres campaign drives home the message that there are just four areas of tread the size of your hand controlling thousands of kilograms of machinery travelling at great speed in all kinds of conditions.
Parris Mesidis, creative director for Showpony which created the ad for Bridgestone Australia, said the information was the breakthrough in creating the campaign, explaining: “Once you know this fact, suddenly the tyres you choose become fundamental to your family’s safety. Creatively we wanted to bring this insight to life in a way that was engaging, but not alarming.”
Shadow puppetry artist Cheri Haight was fundamental in creating a convincing and entertaining visual narrative and giving the ad authenticity.
According to Bridgestone Australia: “It’s easy to lose sight of the simple truth that tyres are one of the most critical safety features of any car, but at Bridgestone, your safety sits at the heart of everything we do.
“Each year we invest more than $800 million in the research and development of our tyres. With thousands of hours of testing and refining these tyres using cutting edge technology, we continue to surpass global safety standards.”
etyres supply and fit a wide range of tyres, including Bridgestone tyres, at highly competitive prices. Customers also benefit from etyres mobile fitting service, which means they can have their new tyres fitted at their home or work at a time that suits them.
