Jenson Button is in a confident mood about the Brazilian Grand Prix tomorrow – but admits he needs to get to grips with his soft tyres for the qualifying session today.
The Brawn driver was a competitive fifth in the second practice yesterday, and was delighted with his pace on the harder tyres.
However, the championship leader – who needs to finish in the top three to clinch the title – stressed that he needs to improve his car’s handling on the soft rubber in the final practice this morning.
The British contender said: “The hard tyre I’m very happy with and we have a good balance for the race, but on the soft tyre I’ve got to do some work to improve my qualifying pace.”
Conversely, his Brazilian team-mate and title rival Rubens Barrichello is happy with the soft tyres.
The local hero, who took third place, said: “The car felt better when we put the softer option tyre on towards the end of the day and I was able to put in a good lap.”
