Bridgestone tyres have stepped up again and made another huge contribution to help the Japanese relief efforts.
The Japanese tyres manufacture pledged $3.5 million to the Japanese Red Cross to assist with its work following the devastation caused by the earthquake and tsunami which ripped through the country.
Now Bridgestone Americas Inc. has announced it will also donate $250,000 to the charity.
Gary Garfield, President and CEO of Bridgestone Americas, said: “A tragedy of this magnitude is always devastating to see, but it’s especially heartbreaking when it affects our teammates, and their families and loved ones.
“On behalf of all Bridgestone Americas teammates, I’d like to express our sympathy to those who have lost loved ones, and we hope that the donation will aid the people of Japan in rebuilding and restoring their country.”
Earlier this week its parent company Bridgestone pledged some $3.5 million in cash, bicycles and clothing to aid victims of the disaster.
