Fantastic news from Bridgestone UK, the tyre monitoring app it developed for the home market has been such a success it is now being rolled out across other European countries.
The Bridgestone “Challenge” app has also been shortlisted in the Best Innovation category for the Motor Transport Awards 2013.
Launched in 2012, the app works by calculating the true cost of tyres over time and shares the performance data with all other users, before providing performance comparisons against competitors’ tyres – all on the user’s tablet.
Andy Mathias, product and marketing manager for Bridgestone tyres, said: “We are proud of our innovative use of technology to help serve our customers and sales force. The application that we developed in the UK is now being used across Europe and is even being trialed in North and South America.”
The app was created by RNF Digital and the winner of the Motor Transport Award will be announced on the night of Wednesday 3 July at The Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.
App users can wirelessly synchronise their device with a centralised server, whereupon the sales representative’s data is uploaded. At the same time, data captured by other representatives is downloaded to the device. The application then has at its disposal a significant body of globally sourced data, from which highly dependable statistics can be derived.
A tyre’s relative performance can therefore be objectively determined, which arms the customer with detailed information before choosing their new tyre.
etyres supply and fit a wide range of Bridgestone tyres at highly competitive prices. Customers also benefit from etyres mobile service, which means they can have their tyres fitted at their home or work.
