Congratulations all round to the Dyson Racing team and everyone at the Dunlop factory in Birmingham for their success in the American Le Mans series.
The team took first place in their Lola-Mazda shod with Fort-Dunlop made tyres at the demanding Mid-Ohil circuit.
The Dyson Racing team, namely Chris Dyson and British star Guy Smith, winner of the Le Mans 24 Hour, were able to double-stint their tyres to claim the victory.
Rob Dyson, owner of Dyson Racing, said: “We’ve had our ups and downs so far this year, but we regrouped and the race this weekend shows the rewards of that.
“I have to say thanks to Dunlop – we double-stinted our tyres at the end while other drivers had to take on fresh rubber. The performance of the Dunlops was very impressive and it certainly demonstrates the importance of all our partners working together.”
Dunlop has always used motorsport as a technological catalyst. What the company learns on the race track is applied to Dunlop road tyres.
James Bailey, corporate communications manager for Dunlop Motorsport, said: “We don’t just race to win – we race to learn. Dunlop’s latest Touch Technology concept of road tyre design incorporates design features that optimize road feedback, including multi-radii construction and tread design that were derived from our racing tyres.”
