Prices for all our tyres, including 4×4’s, run-flats and winter tyres, include fitting, a new valve, balancing, disposal of the old tyre and VAT. There are no hidden extras. We also offer a puncture repair service and supply and fit batteries in Woking and the surrounding areas, including Horsell, Old Woking, Knaphill, Byfleet, Mimbridge and West Byfleet.
As part of the London commuter belt, Woking is a popular place to work and live, which is why our mobile tyre fitting service is widely used in the town and the surrounding areas. One of the towns main claims to fame it that literary giant GH Wells lived in Woking and it was here that he wrote ‘The War of the Worlds’.
Steve – tyres Woking writes: Don’t be one of the motorists who make the mistake of assuming that the only time grip is really important on your tyres is when the roads are icy.
Heavy rain can also leave roads dangerously slippery, which is why it is always a good idea to make sure your tyres have got at least the minimum legal tread depth of 1.6mm – although during the winter months leading motoring and safety groups recommend changing your tyres when they go below 3mm.
Tyres without adequate tread depth may suffer from a loss of grip or traction leading to longer stopping distances, reduced handling and an increased risk of aquaplaning.
The simplest way to check the tread depth on your tyres is to take the 20p test – simply insert the coin into the main tread grooves of their car’s tyres. If the outer rim of the coin is covered by the tread, this indicates sufficient tread depth to be safe and legal.
If the outer rim of the coin is visible, it is likely the tyres need to be replaced, so give us a call and we will make sure you get the right tyres to suit your driving style and budget.
