The warmer weather will see many of us wanting to go away for a few days, so you should be checking your tyres now to see if they are still in good condition. Look to see if there are any cracks or lumps in the tyre and then use a 20p coin to check the tyre tread. New tyres are always a better option than part worn. Part worn tyres can be dangerous and illegal. Recently I read that a tyre safety organisation recently brought 50 part worn tyres and a staggering 98 per cent of the tyres were sold illegally. One of the tyres that were brought was even described by an independent examiner as “having the potential to kill”, and more than a third of the tyres were dangerous. So make up your own mind.
