With half term just around the corner you should check you tyres now. If you are planning to get away with the children over the half term or have a long weekend away you really should get down and have a look at your tyres. Also take a 20p coin and place it in the groves of the tyres and if you can see the rim on the coin that will tell you that the tread is low and the tyre will need to be replaced. Part worn tyres may be cheaper than new tyres but in the long run could cost you more. I read recently that a tyre safety organisation recently brought 50 part worn tyres and a staggering 98 per cent of the tyres were sold illegally. One of the tyres that were brought was even described by an independent examiner as “having the potential to kill”, and more than a third of the tyres were dangerous.
