Weather Improving but Road Conditions not .

As we are all noticing in the south west of Scotland the weather is improving slightly .Still the occasional snow shower and a few icy start’s in the morning though and most of us who drive will have noticed that the small hole in the road is now developing into a disaster for your tyres and in a lot of cases your wheel or wheels too.I have received numerous calls from customers with one tyre damaged by driving into potholes but two customers who contacted me had both nearside tyres damaged beyond repair.One car with wide/low profile tyres had damaged both alloy wheels too .So a call to the dealer had to be made and new wheels ordered which is a very costly experience .Thankfully with less snow and ice being around our already very busy roads departments can hopefully make a start on road repairs .

      Because of such holes in the roads it is more important now to check your tyres/wheels for damage at regular intervals and also regular pressure check’s .Which helps you to get longer use from your tyres and insures that your car handles properly too.When checking your pressures make sure that your tyres are cold i.e. you haven’t just completed a long  journey .As the air in your tyres ‘ heats up ‘ you can get a higher reading on the guage which makes you deflate your tyres and you end up at the incorrect pressure .Also check the inside edge of your tyre for tread as a lot of people just check the first half of the tyre which can surprise people who are thinking they have a few more thousand miles left yet . Especially if you use your car for travelling to and from work and cant be without it during the week .Remember that Etyres can replace your tyres at home or work which for those unexpected times where they need replaced can be such a valuable service and a saving for your pocket too .
