The fact is when winter sets in and temperatures drop below 7C – which is usually experienced throughout the UK between October and March – winter tyres offer much better performance than standard tyres. Regular “all season” tyres rapidly become less flexible so they lose their ability to grip the road, which dramatically increases your stopping distances and can be very dangerous.
