Since November last year it has become easier to make comparisons between tyres of the same size. This is when the EU made it a requirement for all tyre manufacturers to test their tyres in 3 key categories; Fuel Efficiency, Wet Grip and Road Noise.

The good news for customers shopping around for new tyres is that now they can make a more informed decision about their purchase. It is not always the case that the most expensive tyre in each size has the highest scores. Often the mid range and economy tyres are out performing their more established rivals. This means that it is quite possible to save money on new tyres whilst not compromising on performace.

While the new labels do not measure every aspect of a tyres performance, a notable exeption is average mileage for instance, they give buyers better information than previously available. All the tyres we list online, have the tyre labelling information next to them.
