Caravan and motorhome tyres in Newark and surrounding area

Now is the time of year that caravan and motorhome owners are looking to get their vehicles serviced and ready for the upcoming holiday season. Jonathan from etyres (Newark) would like to remind owners the importance of checking their tyres as defective tyres could potentially ruin your holiday. Caravan and motorhome tyres rarely run out of tread owing to them only being used a few times a year. It is important however that tyres are checked for condition and age. The caravan club recommend tyres are changed after 5 years and certainly no longer than 7 years of age. Tyres can be effected by UV light causing the tyre to go hard and loose a lot of there grip properties. This can also increase the likely hood of the tyre overheating and causing a blowout. Caravan tyres can also develop flat spots if stored in the same position for long periods of time. Please don’t get caught out this summer. Prevention is always better and less costly than a cure. New tyre marking regulations

In order to give customers a better insight into tyre performance and to enable them to make a more informed tyre choice, all new tyres now sold have to come with fuel economy – rolling resistance, wet grip and noise level markings. The fuel economy and wet grip properties are rated on a scale with ‘A’ being the best down to ‘G’. The noise level is an external noise indicator rated in decibels. This should allow customers to make a more informed choice when trying to select a new tyre, helping them to choose the right tyre for their requirements.
