Etyres regularly fits tyres at many different kinds of businesses from the offices of solicitors and accountants through to the most secure businesses, even government and military sites.
In many European countries, motorists are required by law to have winter tyres, and it appears that more and more UK drivers are also choosing to fit them to their vehicles to keep them safer on the roads.
Part of the reason for this is the widespread recognition that winter tyres offer much better performance when temperatures drop below 7C, which is a regular occurrence in the UK. For many years there has been a common misconception that winter tyres are only worth fitting when its snowing. But they offer performance benefits in lower temperatures because they contain higher levels of natural silica than summer tyres, which enables them to remain flexible when the average temperature drops below 7C. This flexibility increases grip on the road surface and can reduce braking distances.
Winter tyres will also enhance performance on wet roads, because they are also designed with deeper tread moulds to disperse surface water and reduce the likelihood of aquaplaning. Along these tread moulds are thousands of sipes that aid traction by biting into the surface snow and ice. Combining this added flexibility and improved tread moulds makes winter tyres the safest option between October and March.

they are Winter tyres are because they offer superior road-holding performance; particularly effective below seven degrees. So it is important to note that it DOESN’T have to snow for winter tyres to be a great purchase for the safety conscious driver.
Winter tyres are also a fantastic purchase if you need to get around in the snow because they have tread patterns designed specifically for doing so. While this is true for all vehicles, if you have a rear wheel drive car, you will know that driving in the snow is sometimes almost impossible, but winter tyres change all that.
Etyres Milton Keynes will fit your winter tyres and you can store your summer tyres till spring, at which we point we offer a lower than normal fitting price to swap your tyres over.

Are you planning on taking a holiday in your caravan or motorhome this summer? With the fantastic summer weather we have been having, now is a great time to get away, but before you set off it is vitally important that you carry out a number of key safety checks to minimise the risk of suffering a tyre-related problem that could spoil your fun.
Make sure your tyres are correctly inflated for the applied load. Tyres that are under-inflated are more likely to overheat and suffer from a rapid failure which can lead to loss of control of the vehicle. Also remember that when towing, pressures on the towing vehicle may need to be adjusted accordingly. Details of this can be found in the vehicle manufacturer’s handbook.
Tyre tread depth should also be checked to ensure they exceed the UK’s legal minimum requirements of 1.6mm across the central three quarters around its entire circumference. Motoring expert Vicki Butler Henderson also demonstrates how easy and important it is to check your tyre tread depth in this short etyres video.
Assess the general condition of the tyres and be on the look out for any signs of damage such as lumps, bulges, cuts, cracks or uneven wear, which could lead to a slow puncture or blow out at high speed if not repaired or replaced.
Finally, remember that caravan and motorhome tyres normally need replacing before their treads have gone, and most experts recommend that they should not be used when they are more than five or six years , because even though they might not look worn, like all tyres they will have deteriorated with age. Click here for our guide on how to find out how old your tyres are.
So if you need new motorhome or caravan tyres, remember that etyres Milton Keynes operate a convenient mobile tyre fitting service, which means we come to you and fit your new tyres, whether your vehicle is at your home or a storage site.
