Check your tyres before winter tightens its grip
September 18, 2014

Don’t get caught out this winter with dangerous tyres. The weather has been so hot and dry this summer that your tyres could be in worse condition than you expect – especially if you have not checked them recently for tread depth, sidewall damage and perishing.

If you are not sure how to tell whether your tyre tread depth is down the legal minimum limit of 1.6mm, we urge you to click here and watch our short video, which features Vicki Butler Henderson showing you how to inspect your tyres and why it is important to have plenty of tread.

We work hard to keep our website stock levels correct – 95% of the tyres we list are available next day so we can usually help if you are in a rush to get your car, van or 4×4 through its MOT. Unlike many of our online rivals we don’t ask customers to book two or three days in advance, but aim to have your new tyres fitted within 24 hours (when ordered Monday – Thursday). We do offer a same day fitting service too, but this is subject to availability so please call the office if you wish to enquire about this.

We also repair punctures on site so if you’re stranded at home or work with a flat tyre don’t hesitate to call.

Where to buy caravan tyres in Lancaster?
March 23, 2014

Before taking your caravan or motorhome out on the road for the first trip of the season, make sure you have checked the age and condition of your caravan tyres.

It is good practice to replace tyres which are over six-years-old, as recommended by caravan and safety organisations, as a preventative measure against blowouts and de-lamination, because older tyres become less pliable and more brittle.

Caravan tyres which get little use for large parts of the year are more susceptible to age related defects as they don’t benefit from regular heat cycles that evaporate away moisture. Low mileage caravan tyres often have lots of tread depth remaining long after their sidewalls have started to ‘perish’ – where tiny cracks start to appear in the rubber.

etyres Lancaster mobile tyre fitting service makes having your new caravan tyres fittted miles more convenient. We bring the tyre depot to the caravan, whether it is at home or in storage across the Morecambe Bay area, from Knott-End to Meathop and over to Ingleton.

And because our mobile tyre fitting service operates with low overheads we can sell our caravan tyres cheaper than the fast fit depots, which means we can save you time, hassle and money.

We are also approved suppliers of Tyron safety bands, which means we can supply and fit these potentially life-saving devices to your unit or replace old tyres already fitted with the bands.
