Andy, tyres Holmfirth writes: Despite the cost involved in buying new tyres, it is estimated that up to 60% of car tyres are running at incorrect pressures. Having the correct pressure in your car tyres is essential for safety and fuel economy. Running your car on under inflated tyres will increase the risk of skidding on wet roads, it can affect the cars handling on the road, and can weaken the tyre itself.  Low tyres pressure can also lead to tyre wear and increased fuel consumption.
Likewise an over-inflated tyre is much more easily damaged when encountering pot holes or debris in the road, often leading to new tyres having to be purchased when quite possibly a correctly inflated tyre would much better be able to handle these hazards. Over inflated tyres will also wear unevenly across the tyre making the purchase of new tyres come more frequently.
So check your tyre pressures at least once a month – it  could save you money and, more importantly, your life.

Andy – tyres Holmfirth writes: With the state of the roads today it is no surprise the amount of calls that etyres Holmfirth is getting to repair or replace tyres that have been damaged by potholes. The fact that etyres Holmfirth goes to the customers home or place of work means that customers who discover at home they have a damaged tyre can get it replaced without having to drive any further to the depot, meaning there is, in most cases, no need to change the wheel with the spare or hang around in a tyre depot waiting room for the job to be done. Also driving on a damaged rim or alloy can cause extensive damage to the wheel and your vehicle.

So check your tyres now for tread wear, pressure or damage and if you need a replacement or advice give etyres Holmfirth a call.
