Many thanks for the excellent service. Very easy to order and Jonathan called the night before to arrange a convenient fitting time. I saved a bundle of cash and had the tyres fitted while I was at work. Highly recommended.

Mrs March – Harlaxton, Jan 2011

I would just like to say a big “thank you” to Jonathan Whiting for the amazing service he provided. I phoned him on a Sunday evening, not expecting to get a call back. Fifteen minutes later he called me back and arranged to phone me the next morning as the depots were closed until 8.30am Monday) At 8.30am (on time) he called to advise that he had the tyre and arranged a time to fit it….. He arrived on time to fit the tyre, was quick (less than 15 mins) No waiting in cold, boring workshops, out of date magazines!!!! Better price!!!!!!! No hassle getting to tyre fitting shop!!!!!!! Just no hassle at all !!!!! Will always use etyres now!!! Excellent service.

Mr White – Grantham, Jan 2011

Had been told I needed two new tyres for my Volvo just before Christmas. Jonathan came out the next day at the time arranged and ended up just mending a puncture I wasn’t even aware I had. Thank you Etyres for not ripping me off at an expensive time of the year. Will definitely be using you when I eventually need those tyres and will be spreading the word.

When to change your tyres

February 26, 2012

Jonathan etyres (Grantham) writes: Always ensure your tyres conform to the UK minimum legal tread depth i.e. 1.6mm. This means that your tyres should have at least 1.6mm of tread left across the central three quarters of the tyre tread breadth and around the entire circumference of the tyre.
Please be aware that the ‘wet weather’ performance (i.e. – grip on wet roads) is dramatically reduced when a tyre has less than 3.0 mm. For this reason motoring organizations recommend changing your tyres at this point.
Most car tyres now have tread wear indicators set into the tread grooves, which show when the tyre is worn to 1.6 mm of remaining tread. If these indicators have become level with the tread surface your tyres should be changed immediately. Please remember that the legal limit is just that. It is to be avoided not a target!

Spring into action and check those caravan tyres

Jonathan – etyres (Grantham) writes:- It’s the time of year where thoughts turn towards planning your summer holidays. If you own a caravan or motorhome, it is extremely important to check the condition of your tyres in order to make sure they are not old or damaged. Caravan and motorhome tyres are particularly susceptible to damage from UV rays, causing cracking and crazing and unseen deterioration of the tyres rubber compound. The damage can cause sudden blowouts and punctures, as the tyres can not dicipate the heat caused by normal. A caravan tyre blowout can in extreme cases cause it to flip at high speeds. Please thoroughly check your motorhome or caravan tyres before embarking on your holiday. Or alternatively give us a call and we can arrange to come out to check them for you. A little money spent now can save you a whole lot more in the future.
