Which tyres should I put on my car

Jonathan – tyres Boston writes: I am often being asked by etyres customers what tyres they should put on their vehicles. Sort of a how long is a piece of string really. I always think it’s a personal decision but there are a few factors you should probably take into account. If your vehicle is mainly used for a trip to the shops or the daily school run, then economy and budget tyres will probably by fine for that purpose. If the vehicle is used for more long distance journeys or motorway driving then maybe you should opt for a more well known branded tyre. There are no good or bad tyres but the better known brands have the benefit of greater research and development budgets. There are many different brands currently on the market and it really is a decision you have to make for yourself depending on your own circumstances. etyres will always be happy to point you in the right direction if you are experiencing difficulties.

Springtime caravan and motorhome tyre check

Jonathan – etyres (Boston) writes:- It’s the time of year where thoughts turn towards planning your summer holidays. If you own a caravan or motorhome, it is extremely important to check the condition of your tyres in order to make sure they are not old or damaged. Caravan and motorhome tyres are particularly susceptible to damage from UV rays, causing cracking and crazing and unseen deterioration of the tyres rubber compound. The damage can cause sudden blowouts and punctures, as the tyres can not dicipate the heat caused by normal. A caravan tyre blowout can in extreme cases cause it to flip at high speeds. Please thoroughly check your motorhome or caravan tyres before embarking on your holiday. Or alternatively give us a call and we can arrange to come out to check them for you. A little money spent now can save you a whole lot more in the future.
