It`s that time of year again when the caravan`s coming out of winter storage.If the tyres are over 5 year`s old then they should be replaced.If you don`t know how old they are you can check on the sidewall of the tyre for the dot code it will tell you 4 numbers eg dot 2810 this is telling you the tyre was made in the 28th week of 2010 so you can see how long the tyre has been made.Another visual check is always recommended the tread rarely gets worn down the important thing to check for is cracking on the sidewall it may only be in one spot where the caravan/camper has been parked for a length of time.when reordering your tyres get all the details of the sidewall size and the load and speed rating as you should replace the tyres like for like.

As the caravans/motorhomes are being cleaned ready for the new season.Checking the tyres is essential.Rarely do caravans ware out across the tread like a car tyre. The most common problem is sidewall cracking due to the van staying in one place for a long time,I would advice a very close inspection of the sidewall as the tyres we replace at a glance look fine only on closer inspection you can see small cracks in one spot.Please do not check for the tread wearing down alone a lot of Caravan club members change tyres every 5 years after fitting.This is the best policy for your peace of mind.For any advice feel free to contact Stuart direct for help or advice on 07944160037.
