Reduce Your carbon Footprint by Buying Tyres
Online
5 July 2007 - Motorists are increasingly aware about
their carbon footprint, but few realise they can save
carbon by having new tyres fitted at home, says etyres,
the UK's leading on-line tyre retailer.
Despite their concerns, the average driver will still
travel waste fuel and collectively generate thousands of
cubic metres of CO2 by trawling around tyre depots and
garages to check on tyre availability and price.
Yet switching on their home or office PC is all that is
required to buy tyres in the greenest way – and the
cheapest way – by buying online at etyres.
"The current way of purchasing tyres in Britain imposes
enormous costs on the environment" says etyres MD Tony
Bowman. "Not only do we remove the need for customers to
get in their car to find the tyre bargain, we even fit
the tyres at the motorists home or work, using advanced
vehicle routing systems for our mobile fitting vans."
"Our customers typically pay 40% less for a tyre from us
than from a tyre depot – and there are no extra charges
for wheel balancing or checking tyres."
"In time, I am sure that traditional tyre depots will
become a thing of the past, expensive dinosaurs that
have cost the motorist dear and imposed massive
environmental costs" added Bowman.
