Yokohama’s flagship Advan Sport V105 tyre has recently received two exciting endorsements.

Firstly, the tyre which was launched in Europe earlier this year, was crowned the top sports tyre by the leading French magazine “Motorsport” (Le Magazine de L’Automobile Sportive) following extensive tests comparing 10 international tyre manufacturers.

The Yokohama Advan Sport V105 triumphed over the Bridgestone Potenza S001, Contisportcontact 5, Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric, Michelin Pilot Sport 3, Pirelli PZero, Hankook Ventus S1 Evo2, Vredestein Ultrac Vorti, Toyo Proxes T1 Sport and the Nexen N 8000.

It emerged as the outright winner following tests at the international circuit of Magny Cours, after being ranked for braking, lap times, wear and subjective performance, which considered precision, maximum grip and balance.

The tests were conducted by Rezulteo, the independent International Tyre research company which which has extensive tyre testing and industry expertise.

Yokohama Europe welcomed the result and commented: “The ADVAN Sport V105 is indeed our flagship tyre and a premium product we are very proud of. A lot of research and development of new technology has gone into creating this tyre and now we can see the excellent results of such solid, careful and groundbreaking work.”

This result was closely followed by the announcement that the ADVAN Sport V105 MO tyres for high-powered cars have been selected by Germany’s Daimler AG as original equipment for its Mercedes-Benz new S-Class models. Tyre size for the new S-Class models is 245/50R18 100W.

The Advan Sport V105 MO was developed jointly by Yokohama Rubber and Daimler, and the “MO” mark on the side of each tyre is Daimler’s official stamp of approval.

In addition, the tyres reduced rolling resistance and improved wear resistance meet the tyre manufacturers standards for environmentally friendly products.

Yokohama tyres have been designated as original equipment on numerous other Mercedes-Benz models over the years, including the G-Class, G 63 AMG, G 65 AMG, CL 63 AMG, ML 63 AMG, E-Class Coupe, C -Class, C 63 AMG, CLS-Class, SL-Class, SLK-Class, B-Class, and the A-Class.
