TyreSafe are giving away a sat-nav system worth £150 to one lucky motorist during their Tyres Safety Month Campaign.
Everyone who signs up to the not-for-profit tyres organisations monthly e-newsletter during October is automatically entered into the free prize draw to win the latest a Tom Tom IQ XL.
With its wide 4.3″ touch screen, the system helps keep you safe and allows stress free driving. It also helps you to save time and money with IQ routes.
Stuart Jackson, chairman of TyreSafe, said: “In conjunction with our ‘lifesaver in your pocket’ campaign, by giving away the sat-nav system we hope to make driving a little safer and easier for one motorist.
“However, it’s not just the winner who will benefit. Everyone who signs up to the e-newsletter will receive news, useful hints and tips on tyre safety which we hope they will find useful and remain safe and legal.”
Tyre safety month runs throughout October and is encouraging drivers to check the depth of their tyre tread by using a 20p coin. If the outer band of the coin is visible when inserted into the tyre tread grooves, the tyre may not have sufficient tread depth and should be checked by a qualified specialist.
Current UK law states that tyre tread on cars must be at a minimum of 1.6mm across the central three quarters of the tread, around its entire circumference.
Drivers found in breach of this law face a fine of up to £2500 and three penalty points for each illegal tyre.
