Etyres are celebrating a great result for one of our leading tyres team members.
Alex Kapadia and his co-driver took two outright wins in their class at the Radical European Masters this weekend.
The talented driver, who has been with the UK’s leading online tyres retailer for four years, was racing a Radical SR8LM in the championship at Spa Francorchamps in Belgium.
The pair are now second in the European championship points for the event, which takes place alongside the world famous Le Mans Series.
Alex, 28, runs the Milton Keynes, Luton and Stevenage branches and heads our Operations Team with his business partner Oliver Hall.
He said: “We had a great weekend getting two wins. The first was a close fought thing and I managed to take the lead on the penultimate lap.
“Just before the second race the heavens opened and all the cars had to be changed onto wet tyres. We opted to change to brand new wet tyres rather than tyres which had already been scrubbed in and this helped us pull away from the field to score a dominant win.”
Radical racing is the brainchild of Phil Abbott and Nick Hyde and was born out of an idea to build a sportscar powered by a motorcycle engine. The latest design is the Radical SR8LM as raced by Alex with 460bhp.
Radical Sportscars design, manufacture, assemble and test its cars at its 30,000 square foot factory in Peterborough. Wind tunnel development is carried out at MIRA and chassis safety testing is undertaken at Cranfield University.
