Glamour and excitement aren’t usually words associated with tyres, but Toyo have managed to inject both into their advertising campaign which features A.C. Milan football players, a sexy ref in hotpants, a supercool Audi R8 and some daring rooftop dribbling.
Shot like a movie sweeping through the streets of Milan the commercial follows four players from the Italian football club racing against the sleek black sports car – enhanced with Toyo Proxes T1 Sport high-performance tyres – through the team’s hometown.
The two-minute promotional video features Riccardo Montolivo, Jérémy Ménez, Adil Rami and Keisuke Honda in the city alley race and even has a surprise twist at the end, when the Stig-like driver behind the wheel of the Audi removes his helmet (see for yourself at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M092PBHytC8).
The four footballers dribble and pass a football to each other throughout the streets and rooftops of Milan with masterful skill. The Audi R8, equipped with Toyo Proxes T1 Sport high-performance tyres, drives through the same streets with a football buckled in at shotgun. It heads for the same goal as the footballers. Who will win? The people of Milan hold their collective breath.
A.C. Milan is one of the best football clubs in the world and the tyre manufacturer became the first Japanese company to officially support the team as a Premium Sponsor in April 2014. It commissioned the fast-paced video to simultaneously showcase the amazing performances of both its top quality tyre products and A.C. Milan’s footballers.
According to Toyo tyres, the video embodies the company’s belief in constantly providing fresh surprises to its audience and spokesperson Haruhiko Kitagawa added: “We wanted to express how we as a tyre manufacturer can be playful and at the same time a serious competitor, just like the A.C. Milan stars. We believe the video not only achieves that, but also captures the joy and beauty of driving with high performance auto gear. ”
