Telegraph motoring expert Honest John drives home winter tyres message
The Telegraph’s excellent motoring expert Honest John has been reinforcing his views on fitting winter tyres in his column today.
With much of the UK being carpeted under a blanket of snow during the last few weeks, the winter tyres has been a hot topic in the motoring world.
MS from Banchory told the columnist: “I’d like to reinforce your oft-repeated views about the use of winter tyres. We live in semi-rural Aberdeenshire and endure fairly harsh winters. My wife drives a BMW 325M diesel automatic and we fit winter wheels and tyres from November to March. The results have been excellent.”
Honest John replied: “Many thanks for your support. The 175/65R14 Michelin Alpin A4s on my Fiat 500 provide more comfort and grip then the 185/55 R15 Energy Savers fitted in summer. I always hope I won’t need them, though - I’ve spent too much of my life in Northumberland snow and hate it.”
