Incase you hadn’t noticed, winter has definitely arrived and it is bringing a string of hazardous conditions for motorists, from icy roads to dead batteries, which means it is time to put a little effort into making sure your car can handle whatever the weather has to throw at it.

You can always rely on Quentin Willson, the Sunday Mirror’s excellent motoring correspondent, to serve up timely advice to suit all occasions and today he has been reminding his reader about the importance of being winter ready.

He writes in his weekly column: “Winter is upon us so get your car serviced, top-up the antifreeze and check your battery. Don’t forget to carry a phone charger, blankets, boots and supplies just in case you get stranded. And if you want to switch to a set of winter tyres, now’s the time before they sell out.”

We couldn’t agree more when it comes to buying winter tyres; waiting until your car is up to its wing mirrors in a snow drift or you can’t make it onto the gritted roads because your tyres can’t get to grips with your icy driveway, are the motoring equivalents of closing the stable door after the horse has bolted!

etyres supply and fit a wide range of winter tyres to suit all budgets, and we can currently get you sorted for as little as around £250 for a set of economy range tyres, because our Discount Promise means you get an additional £25 off our highly competitive prices when you order four or more new tyres.

It is also worth remembering that if you are unfortunate enough to suffer a flat van or car battery because of the cold weather, etyres provide a mobile battery fitting service which means you don’t have to worry about how you are going to get your car, which won’t start, to a garage to have a new battery fitted so that it will start…

Whether you need winter tyres or a battery – etyres mobile service is a no brainer for the savvy motorist and you don’t need to go out into the cold to get the job done.
