Not entirely (not pun intended) sure what to make of this Pirelli tyres video on YouTube…. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06R5AhbmrcI
The Italian tyres manufacturer dubs it: “An amazing display of power and control that Pirelli organized in Milan to celebrate a great Formula One™ season with Pzero tires.”
Or as one viewer puts it (and it’s had over 100,000 hits): “The Stig dancing cousins.”
Apparently, it was shot the day before the Italian Grand Prix and was meant to celebrate the companies successful involvement with the world of Formula One and to mark the imminent arrival of the limited edition tyre inspired by the sport.
In the video, thirty professional dancers dressed as F1 drivers invade the Arco della Pace monument in Milan. The dancers, moving to the sounds of ‘Fantasy’ by French artist Breakbot, worked their way through the underground, delighting tourists and locals in the centre of Milan with the modern dance routine, choreographed by Paola Ka, best known for her work with Prince.
According to Pirelli, the P Zero Silver, which will be available from spring next year: “follows on from the Italian firm’s tradition of using the lessons learned in motorsport for the benefit of everyday motorists”.
So, after watching the video, ask yourself this question – would it make you buy their tyres?
